Bio
Courtney Stricklin is an artist, musician, and revolutionary residing and working in Los Angeles.
Her artwork is situationally specific, produced to engage the audience with the context and content of each installation. Stricklin consistently strives to remove the barriers between an artwork and its viewer by presenting questions in her work that require participation and thought. She knows that it is not enough to view her art; instead, the interaction of a viewer furthers the meaning of each piece.
As a musician, Stricklin sings, plays guitar, ukulele, and the occasional kazoo. She recently formed “King Courtney and The Dukes”, an ukulele led ensemlbe preforming imaginative covers of all her favorite songs. She is also a frequent collaborator with “The Jingle Boys”, producing annual holiday records to delight young and old. She can regularly be found singing and playing guitar at the First Baptist Church of Downey, or lighting up karaoke stages throughout LA County.
